3 FAQs about Home Inspections

Home InspectionThe home-buying process can be fraught with twists and turns. You have so many details to consider and decisions to make. Along the way, you’re bound to have quite a few questions about everything, including the home inspection. To help homebuyers like you, we answer a few of the common questions we hear at InspectPros, Inc. of Camarilla, CA.

1. What does an inspection include?

At InspectPros, we have a thorough process we go through for every home we inspect. Our inspectors take a look at the following components of your potential home:

At the conclusion of your home inspection, you will receive a thorough and detailed written report, complete with photos and videos (if a more-detailed description and visual is necessary).

2. Do I need to be at the home inspection?

You’re not required to be present at the inspection, but we highly recommend that you are. That way, you can observe the inspector and get a thorough understanding of the home’s condition. It’s much easier to ask your inspector in person when you’re looking at the house.

3. What if the inspection report reveals problems?

All houses (even new construction) can have their problem spots or areas for future concern. Don’t panic if your house’s inspection report shows some defects. Instead, along with your real estate professional, use the report to make an informed decision about the home. You may choose to negotiate for repairs, to revisit the purchase price, to purchase as is, or maybe even to decide not to buy the home. However, armed with information, you now have options. This is a good thing.
